How does something as simple as this effect our health? Dr. Tim Goler is a sociologist, educator, and public scholar whose work explores how structural racism, intergenerational stress, and life course challenges shape the mental and emotional well-being of Black communities. He grew up in Cleveland, attended Cleveland Public Schools, and went on to earn degrees from both Cleveland State University and Case Western Reserve University. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Dr. Goler now serves as Professor of Sociology and Urban Affairs and Director of Research at the Center for African American Public Policy at Norfolk State University. His work bridges academic research and community practice, with a focus on mental clarity, self-determination, and culturally grounded approaches to wellness.
