National authority on Black health equity — 30+ years in practice
Dr. Gregory L. Hall, MD is a Cleveland-based internal medicine physician with more than 30 years of clinical experience, specializing in the health needs of African Americans. A 2025 Library of Congress History Makers inductee, he serves as President of the Cuyahoga County Board of Health, has served on the Ohio Medicaid Medical Care Advisory Committee for over 20 years, and previously served six years as Chairman of the Ohio Commission on Minority Health by gubernatorial appointment. Dr. Hall is the author of two books — Better Black Health (Archway Publishing, 2025) and Precision Medicine for African Americans (Springer Nature, 2nd Ed. 2025) — and serves as Advisory Board member and featured faculty at Pri-Med, the nation’s largest primary care CME platform, where his “Bridging the Gap” webcast series earned the NAMECP Best Practice in Advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Medical Education award in 2023. He is the host and creator of Better Black Health TV, the first physician-hosted streaming series dedicated to Black health, and is a National Medical Association Ambassador and Founder of the National Institute for African American Health.
The Black health gap is structural, not genetic. Why 44 million African Americans face disproportionate rates of hypertension, diabetes, and cancer — and what the clinical evidence actually shows.
Precision medicine and race. How treatment guidelines built on white populations create preventable harm for Black patients, and how physicians can close the gap today.
Why Black men avoid doctors. The cultural, historical, and systemic barriers — and how meeting people in the barbershop and on the front porch actually works.
Medicaid and minority health policy. 20+ years on Ohio’s Medicaid Advisory Committee gives Dr. Hall unique, practical insight into how policy decisions reach patients at the community level.
COVID-19 and Black communities. As CCBH Board President, Dr. Hall led Cuyahoga County’s pandemic response — including vaccine equity efforts in underserved communities.
Better Black Health TV — why TV works. Why an unscripted myth-busting TV show reaches Black patients that clinical pamphlets never will, and what streaming platforms are missing.
An unscripted, 22-minute myth-busting series filmed in barbershops, front porches, and kitchen tables. The first physician-hosted streaming series dedicated entirely to Black health. Targeting BET, OWN, Hulu, and FAST platforms.
